1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independently operated without government affiliation. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records on demand, perform official checks, or submit filings for a visitor.

Its function is to identify official custodians, including McHenry County Sheriff Records, the Circuit Clerk for the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit, the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. Illinois conviction-information access through ISP is governed by the Uniform Conviction Information Act, 20 ILCS 2635. Requests for nonexempt executive-agency records follow the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140; court files remain subject to court access rules and Circuit Clerk procedures.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on avoiding the following conduct:

• Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
• Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
• Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
• Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
• Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
• Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No visitor may use information reached here to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against another person. Illinois law places specific limits on misuse of Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry data, and misconduct directed at a registrant may result in criminal penalties. Registry information serves public-safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilante acts or prohibited discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

McHenry County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no credit report, background check, or consumer report. Its advertising partners are not presented as tools for applicant, renter, insurance, or credit decisions. Information from this website or a linked tool must not be used to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check needed for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from the Illinois State Police process when applicable or from a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations about McHenry County records are not legal advice. Only a licensed Illinois attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement provision applies to an individual situation.

6. No Warranties

All material and functions are supplied "as is" and "as available." No warranty is made that:

• The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
• The site will stay up and running without interruptions
• Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
• Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records can change when a charge is filed, dismissed, corrected, sealed, or expunged. Updates may lag. Content here is never an official statement from the McHenry County Circuit Clerk, sheriff, Illinois State Police, or another government office.
